MEET YOUR FISHER-WOMAN
Meet Casey Coupchiak, your fisher-woman! As a female Yup’ik, indigenous to Southwest Alaska, she's worked hard to inherit and hold onto her family's fishing permit - making her a fishing industry minority and quite a GEM! In 2016, she founded Yup'ik Girl Seafood (formerly Eskimo Girl Salmon) and has been sharing her fish with Truckee-Tahoe, where she once lived. With a goal of expanding her fishing business to support indigenous Alaskans she's partnering with SFLT to offer wild caught Alaskan Sockeye Salmon from Bristol Bay, Alaska - the most sustainable on the planet. And, she's giving back to our community too, a portion of your purchase goes towards SFLT programs and hunger relief in our community. Thank you Casey!
