THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!
Once the pandemic hit and indoor gatherings were postponed, we set our sights on new ways to support our community and have decided to end our annual Community Soup Night series. We encourage you to carry-on the tradition within your own circles and warm the hearts and bellies of your family, friends, or neighbors by cooking some delicious soup for you all to enjoy together.
Community Soup Night brought our community together to enjoy a savory and affordably-priced meal made from local, sustainably-grown ingredients.
Community Soup Nights were a long-standing tradition in the Truckee-Tahoe community. Originally known as Project MANA's "Stone Soup," these Soup Nights brought family and friends together to enjoy a warm, affordable and delicious meal, made from fresh, local and sustainably sourced ingredients. This event was a collaboration of two local, non-profit organizations, Tahoe Food Hub and Slow Food Lake Tahoe, who are committed to creating a more sustainable food community. Guests were entertained by local musicians and free giveaways at this family friendly event. All were welcome to attend and no reservations were required. Just show up, BYO bowl & utensils, and enjoy!
